Personal Development

Hi There!! Today I am sitting at home waiting for hurricane Irma to make its way through S. Florida and in an attempt to keep my mind occupied I thought I’d share a little blog post on some of my favorite resources. I made this post into a “page” so, you can reference it anytime. I will be adding more of my favorite things to this list later so be sure to check back!!

***Some of the links below are affiliate links, which means that if you choose to make a purchase, I will earn a commission. This commission comes at no additional cost to you. I only recommend products, and companies I truly love and use, not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to buy something. I hope you can find some of my recommendations useful! Let me know in the comments section which you like or any that I need to try!!

First up is Blue Host, This is the site that I use to host this blog.

I really love Blue Host, they have awesome customer service. I can’t tell you how many times I have called to ask a question and had the agents literally walk me through the steps I needed to take to resolve my issue. Some of my questions were probably really basic and sounded dumb so, I really appreciated the agent not being like “Geez Dummie! Everyone knows that!!!” They also make it really easy to set up your WordPress site with one click installs. If your blog is set up with WordPress, I highly recommend them.

Correct that spelling!!

Instant Grammar Checker - Correct all grammar errors and enhance your writing.

I recently discovered Grammarly through another blogger and have been really loving it!! Grammarly is a grammar checker that checks everything from commonly misspelled words to comma placement and even helps you determine if you used the right homonym- for example, there vs their. Before using Grammarly, I was using Word’s spell checker but, I noticed that a lot of words and grammatical errors were still being missed. One thing I love about Grammarly is that they explain why they are flagging your content with errors. I’ll admit, sometimes Grammarly got it wrong but, most often they got it right! After I type a blog post I  reread it several times myself and after a while my eyes miss errors so this is another reason I love Grammarly. If you don’t have someone to help you proofread your writing Grammarly works awesome! Grammarly has a free version and a paid version, I use the free version and have found it to be everything I need.

The next is Daily Greatness Journals.

I stumbled across these journals on Pinterest and I am sooooo glad I did! I have the daily greatness journal and use it every morning and evening. I will have to do a review of the journal one day so you can see how I use it. But, it is a really fat book filled with amazing pages dedicated to helping you plan your day, reflect on your week and set some major goals. I love this thing!! They also have a business planner, health planner, Parents, workout, and yoga journal. Definitely, check them out!  Here is a discount code to use if you choose to purchase one of these planners.

Keep Learning with Creative Live.

I have been using Creative Live for years. It is one of my absolute go to resources for learning new stuff. If you aren’t familiar with Creative Live here is a little post I wrote.

Creative Live offers online courses taught in just about every topic imaginable, photography, health, personal development, film, music, finance, Pinterest marketing,  Etsy selling, the list goes on. What I love about this site is, in addition to being taught by some of the top leaders in the industry, the classes are free while “on air” and of course you have the option to buy to keep forever. I’ve tuned in and watched so many different courses and have learned tidbits of info from all of them. If you haven’t already, check them out! They have an expansive catalog of courses truly something for everyone!

inkWell Press Planners

I’m kinda a planner junkie. I use them daily to keep me organized. I have tried tons of planners and I think I really love the inkWell planners the best. I have tried, the Lily Pulitzer planner, The Day Designer which is prob my #2 pick for a daily planner, and the ink and volt planner. I love the inkWell planners for a lot of reasons, they are well made, have beautiful paper, just the right amount of color in the pages. But, my favorite part is they have a goal section, habit tracker, focus statement, and a planning section at the beginning of the planner to plan out your year and also have a goal planning page every month. I love this part because I love to set a focus for the month and reflect back on these pages at the end of the year. Check them out for yourself and let me know what you think! Here is a $10 off code to use if you choose to snag one of these planners up!

Be Well and Be SAFE if you are in Irma’s path.
