Skin and Hair Essentials to add to your self-care routine

Now that it is fall,  I really need to pay more attention to my hair and skin, both need some major TLC! I’ve rounded up ten of my favorite skin and hair essentials to add to your self-care routine. I hope you guys will try them for yourselves and let me know what you think!

First and most importantly is sunscreen! I worked as an Esthetician in a spa years ago and I would literally tell EVERY single person how important it was to use sunscreen. Not only to prevent skin cancer but for premature aging. Well, some listened and some…just spent oodles of money on fancy creams! I have a few different ones that I use but one of my go-to favorites is Coppertone Water Babies. I use this on my kids too! Consumer Reports recently rated sunscreens for their effectiveness and this one made the top of the list. It’s affordable, and it works! I also use a lip balm containing SPF, the one by sun bum feels good and smells super yummy!

CeraVe is one of my FAVORITE brands. Anytime someone wants to talk about skin I usually recommend them to this brand. Their skin creams are packed with awesome ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and ceramides that protect and moisturize your skin. The moisturizing cream is super rich and perfect to use after a day in the pool.

  1. Vitamin C serum Serumtologie
  2. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
  3. TRESemme Botanique Nourish and Replenish Mask
  4. Coralista Blush Benefit Cosmetics
  5. Coppertone Water Babies SPF 50
  6. Aloe Vera Mask
  7. Sun Bum SPF 30 Lip Balm
  8. The Body Shop Coconut Mist
  9. Lancome Waterproof Mascara
  10. Lancome Eye Makeup Remover

Hair Masks are a must for me. I have used a few different types and one of my favorites is TRESemme’s Coconut mask. It smells awesome and it makes my hair super soft and shiny after I use it. I am in Chlorine and salt water a lot so my hair gets very dry!

I don’t wear a lot of makeup but, I do have a few staples. Coralista blush is such a great shade for anyone who has olive skin. It gives you perfect rosy cheeks! The best waterproof mascara I have tried is the one by Lancôme. I have sensitive eyes and this one is the only one that doesn’t bother me. The makeup remover is worth every penny!! It takes off all your mascara easily and doesn’t leave a greasy mess on your eyes.

Now that I’m getting older I really try to do face treatments weekly and I use serums and sheet masks like a mad woman! One of my favorites (I have lots!) Is the Aloe Vera mask by Masque Bar. I feel like my skin feels really soft after I use it and I must admit, I once used this face mask on my neck after it got roasted from hanging out at the beach too long, super soothing!!! The Vitamin C serum by Serumtologie is something I use twice a day. I feel like it truly brightens my skin and makes my skin glow. I say “truly” because I once used the Origins Vit.C line and thought it was awesome until I realized it had shimmery stuff that was actually making my skin glow. So, Serumtologie…no shimmery stuff just good ingredients! If you try this let me know what you think!

Last is Coconut mist. I pretty much love anything that smells or tastes like coconut so, this mist is no exception.  I will say that the aroma doesn’t last as long as I like but it is small enough to carry in your bag for mid-day spritzes. It smells amazing!!!

Let me know what some of your favorites are or your thoughts on the above list!

xx
